Colosia Amontillado
Colosia Amontillado
Gutierrez Colosia
Gutiérrez Colosía, a Sherry firm based in the town of El Puerto de Santa María, traces its roots back to 1838. For much of the twentieth century, the firm operated as an almacenista, aging and selling their wine to larger bodegas. It wasn't until 1997 that Juan Carlos Gutiérrez began bottling wines under his own label, Gutiérrez Colosía. This Amontillado is over nine years of age: three years under flor as a Fino Sherry, and then at least five years of oxidative aging.
Warm richness and nutty character, with classic marzipan and golden raisin tones, balanced by a focused and subtle salinity that comes from its aging under flor.
